Age: 17
Sex: female
Date: 31 Jan 1958
Place: Rose Grove Wood, Whitwell, Hertfordshire
Anne Noblett's body was found in woodland near Whitwell on 31 January 1958 by a dog walker.
She was last seen getting off of a bus at Cherry Tree Corner, Marshalls Heath on 30 December 1957.
Her body was found frozen in Rose Grove Wood, near Whitwell, 7 miles away. She had been suffocated. It was thought that she had been murdered elsewhere and put in a freezer and then dumped a month later. The winter had been unusually mild and her body would not have remained frozen throughout. Also, it was thought that her body would have been found much earlier as the area had been searched during the initial murder hunt.
