Rebecca Hall

Age: 19

Sex: female

Date: 13 Apr 2001

Place: Thornton Street, Bradford

Rebecca Hall was found dead in an alleyway.

She was a prostitute and had worked around the Bradford area. She disappeared on 13 April 2001 and was later found dead in the alleyway on 26 April 2001 having been beaten to death.

She had been stripped and then beaten to death. Her cause of death was given as head injuries. When she was attacked her clothes were ripped off of her.

She was last seen when she left her flat at Lydford House, in Elizabeth Street, Little Horton, at about 10pm on 13 April 2001. It was thought that she had been heading off towards Thornton Road when she left.

When her body was found she was naked.

Rebecca Hall had been a heroin addict and had a four-month-old baby boy.

She was 5ft 5ins tall, slim, and had dyed red hair cut in a bob-style. She had been wearing black leggings and a purple sheer top with knee-length black boots and had had a Motorola Star Tac mobile phone and a distinctive limited edition watch with a South Park cartoon character. The phone and watch were never found.

It was thought that her killer had known her or had been a regular customer. It was also thought that her killer was local to the area.

In 2008, police re-examined DNA samples from her strap top and knickers after improvements in DNA examination meant that samples which were previously too small to analyse could reveal more.

In January 2019 a woman was arrested on suspicion of her murder.
