Paul Booth

Age: 31

Sex: male

Date: 3 Mar 1999

Place: Esso garage, Totton Asda Complex, Totton

Paul Booth died 11 days after being assaulted near the Esso garage in the Totton Asda complex.

After being assaulted he went to the accident and emergency department at Southampton General Hospital. However, he left before receiving treatment. He then continued to work normally and didn't report the incident, but his fiancee later found him unconscious and he was taken to hospital where he died on 3 March 1992.

It was thought that he might have been involved in an incident of road rage at the petrol station after having done something like blocking another person in.

An anonymous letter was later received by the police that stated that a black Mitsubishi Shogun had been parked up at the garage at the time and that the writer of the letter had seen three men arguing with Paul Booth before assaulting him.

The police also said that they looked into the possibility that Paul Booth had been involved with load sharks or drugs, although his family said that they never had any indication of that. However, they did say that in his youth Paul Booth had been prone to 'the odd scuffle' in his younger days.

Paul Booth was a self-employed builder and had been training to become a diving instructor.
