Lynne Trenholm

Age: 29

Sex: female

Date: 9 Jun 1991

Place: Pinkys Massage Parlour, Boughton, Chester

Lynne Trenholm was found dead upstairs in Pinkys Massage Parlour in Boughton. She had been stabbed to death.

She was a prostitute and was working alone at the time at the massage parlour. She was last seen there at 1.30pm.

A fingerprint in blood was found at the scene that the police said they hoped would provide the key to solving her murder.

She was found semi-naked in the massage parlour by a cleaner at about 9.45pm on the night of 9 June 1991 in a pool of blood, having been stabbed multiple times.

Pinkys Massage Parlour was a two-storey establishment and Lynne Trenholm's body was found on the first floor.

The police said that they thought that the motive might have been robbery as a substantial amount of cash had been taken.

Two men were seen leaving the massage parlour at about 5.30pm, and the police said that they were interested in tracing them.

They said that they were also keen to trace two other men, one who had visited Lynne Trenholm at 12.50pm and the other who was thought to have called around 5pm.

The police said that they were also keen to trace a call that she was said to have made from the massage parlour at about 4.50pm.

It was thought that she had been stabbed with a long-bladed instrument, but the weapon was not found. the police said, 'It was not a particularly frenzied attack. The wounds were on the upper part of her body but that is as much as I can say'.

Lynne Trenholm was from Failsworth in Manchester and was unmarried but had a child. She had worked at the salon as a masseuse for at least two years. However, she was said to have been leading a double life as she had told her boyfriend and family that she was working as a clerk. She had previously been a nursing home assistant. She used to make the journey from her home in Failsworth to Chester without her family suspecting that she was working as a masseuse.

The police said that they interviewed more than 700 people, including a large number of people who used Pinkys Massage Parlour for sexual services.

In 2013, the police said that they were reviewing a number of exhibits, including furniture, from the scene of the crime in order to applying the latest in forensic analysis techniques, including DNA analysis in the search for new clues.

Lynne Trenholm was also known as Blondie and Marilyn.

Pinkys Massage Parlour shut down shortly after the murder.
