Age: 35

Sex: male

Date: 1 Jun 2010

Place: Inverkip Drive, Shotts, Lanarkshire

Anthony Wright was shot outside his home shortly after he had left to go to work.

He was shot in his driveway at 7am after which his killer ran off across waste ground around the back of his house. The gunman was wearing a mask.

He was shot twice, once in his driveway and a second time in the street.

He was taken to Wishaw General Hospital where he later died.

Shortly after, in 2010, two men were arrested in connection with his murder, but released without charge.

Reports stated that neighbours had hinted that the shooting was associated with local troubles.

Other reports stated that Anthony Wright was no angel and that he had a string of criminal connections.

A CCTV photo of a man wearing a white hood and a black jacket that the police wanted to trace was later released.

Police said that they were also looking for the drivers of both a red Ford Transit tipper vehicle and a silver Vauxhall Corsa car.

Later in 2017 the police said that they were also looking to trace a green Vauxhall Vectra car and issued a photo. The police said that the car was seen in the area on both the Tuesday 8 June 2010 as well as the Wednesday 9 June 2010, the day Anthony Wright was shot.
