Jamail Newton was shot outside the Aristocrats nightclub in Camberwell Green at about 2.20am on 1 November 2006.
He was taken to hospital but later died. Two other people were also treated for gunshot wounds.
He had been hit several times, including once to the head, which proved to be the fatal shot.
It was thought that he had been walking along the street after leaving the club with some friends when they were approached by another group of youths. It was thought that the other youths then went away but then came back wearing balaclava's and started shooting at them.
Jamail Newton was also known as Big Show and was 7ft tall.
A gun that was later found to have been linked to the shooting was one of many that had been converted by a man in Reading who was later convicted for seven firearms offences related to their conversion and sentenced to life imprisonment.
