Stephen Sylvester

Stephen Sylvester was found dead in the boot of his minicab near Heathrow Airport.

He had been stabbed to death.

He had been a minicab driver and had worked for Skyways Minicabs at Kingsley Road by Houslow East tube station, about four miles from the airport. He had driven a Ford Ghia XL.

He normally worked nights on in the early hours of 17 November 1983, he returned to his miinicab office after having taken a fare to Feltham. He arrived there at about 2.30am at which time the controller and the other driver went home as it was quiet, leaving Stephen Sylvester along in the office. Stephen Sylvester then opened up a small bed to rest.

However, at some point between 2.30am and 3.30am, Stephen Sylvester left the office in his car, it was thought presumably with another fare. However, it wasn't known whether he had responded to a phonecall or whether someone had called into the office.

It was heard that at some point Stephen Sylvester had either got into the back seat of his car, or had been forced there, and was stabbed to death.

After killing Stephen Sylvester, his body was placed in the boot and the minicab was driven towards the airport. where the car was left in the short term carpark in Terminal 3.

It was determined that the car arrived at the carpark at 4.05am. The entrance ticket to the carpark was dropped on the floor of the car.

It was thought that whoever killed him would have been heavily bloodstained.

The car was discovered four days later on Monday 21 November 1983 by police who had been looking for him. His car was described as being bloodstained.
