Philip Silvester was murdered in his home.
He had been assaulted and died from head and chest injuries.
His body was found by police who forced their way into his home at 5.50pm on 13 December 2009 after relatives said that they had not heard from him in a fortnight.
He was last seen in CCTV footage when he went to a convenience store in Whetstone Road having driven there in his H registration silver/blue Ford Escort at about midday.
Police said that they thought he had been murdered a short while later.
The police also said that he was a very quiet man who led a private life and generally kept himself to himself and rarely socialised and was careful about opening his front door to strangers.
They said that they were interested in speaking to anyone that had been in Kellaway Road between Tuesday 1 December and Sunday 13 December 2009 that had heard a disturbance.
