Jean Millar was found in burned-out bonfire in a garden of 141 Brock Road, Pollock by two council workmen on the night of Wednesday 12 January 1983.
A 34-year-old man was tried for her murder but acquitted after the judge directed the jury to find him not guilty because of insufficient evidence. However, he was convicted of assaulting her by punching her and sentenced to 6 months back dated to the time of his arrested, meaning that he could be release the following week.
