Irfan Ahmed was stabbed at the Halal Food Direct store at 16 The Broadway in Wood Green at about 3pm on Thursday 29 September 2011.
A main suspect was identified but there are no known charges, trials or convictions.
Irfan Ahmed was a shop assistant at the store which was a butcher shop. It was said that he had stepped into stop an argument in front of his store between the main suspect and another man selling phone cards.
The main suspect was seen leaving the shop shortly after Irfan Ahmed was stabbed. He was said to have lived in Enfield where he had gone after the murder but to have then disappeared.
It was thought that Irfan Ahmed had had an argument with the man shortly before he was stabbed.
Paramedics were called out and tried to save his life but he was declared dead at the scene.
The post-mortem stated the cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.
The suspect was described as being 5ft 5in tall and to have been wearing a black hooded top, baggy grey trousers and black trainers on the day of the murder.
Irfan Ahmed had been stabbed in the chest with one of his own knives.
