A man was tried and convicted of his murder although the conviction was later quashed due to the judge misleading the jury over self-defence law.
Terry Shepherd had been a window cleaner and had been stabbed in the chest outside the club where a disco was being held.
Terry Shepherd died almost instantly from the single stab wound to the heart.
Terry Shepherd had been from Garston near Watford.
The man had been staying in Watford on his way to the FA Cup Final with three other friends. The three other friends had all also been initially arrested over the murder.
