Dorothy Leyden was raped and beaten to death with a brick on her way home from a night out.
She had just been to a Jimmy Ruffin concert at the Golden Garter nightclub in Wythenshawe after which she headed into central Manchester.
She got out of a taxi with friends at Piccadilly Gardens bus station at 2.30am and it was thought that she then decided to walk home.
Her body was later found on waste ground behind the Spread Eagle pub in Collyhurst.
At the time it was thought that she had been murdered by a convicted serial killer but in 2008 it was proven that he didn't kill her. As a result a fuller search for the real killer was not made.
In 2016 a further appeal was made for information regarding her murder.
