Natalie Putt

Natalie Putt vanished on 1 September 2003 after saying that she was nipping out to the shops. She had left her 11-week old son behind at the house.

Her bank account remained untouched. She also left her mobile phone behind along with all her possessions. The police said that there was no evidence that she had been murdered or that she had planned to kill herself.

The last voicemail that she had left with a person indicated that she was going to visit some friends in Tamworth.

The night before she vanished she had been out for the night with a friend and had returned home at 9am. She had then stayed home until about midday when she had gone out on the errand and never returned.

Police searched nearby rivers and lakes for any sign of her including pools off Foxlands Close in Lower Gornal.

She was described as white, with a slim build, just over 5ft tall with black shoulder-length hair, blue eyes and a pale complexion. She had a Midlands accent and generally wore a pendant necklace with the words ’someone special’ engraved on it.

In December 2003, the police dug up the garden at her former boyfriends home in Church Street, Brierley Hill. They later searched Penn Common, near Wolverhampton and stables in Himley where her family had kept horses.

In March 2004, a man was arrested in connection with her disappearance but was released with out being charged.

In 2013 the police dug up a paddock near Himley Lodge, off the A449, where she had also kept horses.

In 2015 police searched farmland in the Wombourne area where Natalie Putt was thought to have kept horses.

In June 2017, it was reported that police were digging up several graves about 150 metres from her home looking for her.

At her inquest in January 2019 an open verdict was returned.
