Junior Wayne Carter

Age: 34

Sex: male

Date: 29 Feb 1996

Place: Dudley Road, Winson Green, Birmingham

Junior Carter was shot in Dudley Road, Winson Green, Birmingham on the night of Thursday 29 January 1996.

He had been sat in his black Ford Mondeo car outside the Feed the Nation cafe in Dudley Road.

The killer ran off towards Rotton Park after the shooting.

Junior Carter died five hours later in hospital.

The police said that they were particularly keen to speak to a man that had been walking his dog and had spoken to Junior Carter shortly after the shooting.

Junior Carter, an illegal immigrant, was described as a gangster and a Yardie, and it was noted that he had previously been arrested over the death of Timothy Thomas, a drug dealer in June 1995. He had been questioned over the murder and then deported to Jamaica, however, he had sneaked back in.

Timothy Thomas's murder is also thought to be unsolved.

The police appealed for people that were passengers on a bus travelling along Dudley Road at 8.10pm, the time Junior Carter was shot, to come forward.
