Sami Mustafa

Sami Mustafa and Hasan Mamali were shot dead in Islington.

They had been sitting in a BMW convertible car in Islington at the time.

Hasan Mamali was hit in the back of his head in the car whilst Sami Mustafa was hit in the back, chest and skull after he got of the car and tried to run off.

Two people that had been sitting in the front of the car turned it around and drove off, but it was found abandoned nearby with the front doors hanging open and Hasan Mamali dead in the back. Neither of the two people in the front seats were traced.

A 22-year-old man was arrested several days later but nothing more is known.

It was thought that they had been involved in the Turkish drugs trade and that they had crossed people involved in the local criminal underworld.

Sami Mustafa and Hasan Mamali had been Turkish Cypriots and officially unemployed at the time.

It was thought that they might have been set up or that they might have been there for a drugs deal.
