Ali Toprak

Ali Toprak was stabbed in the heart with a screwdriver outside The Crescent Club in West Kensington.

Two men were charged with his murder and one of them was tried at the Old Bailey in London but acquitted.

The court heard that Ali Toprak had been to the nightclub which was holding an Istanbul-themed night and that later outside at the club's entrance on North End Road, at 3am, a man had pestered his cousin to take a picture of him on her mobile phone and that a fight started involving a number of people.

During the fight Ali Toprak was stabbed in the chest with a screwdriver and taken to hospital. The screwdriver had punctured his heart and he died later in hospital.

The man that was tried for his murder was said to have been the most aggressive in the fight and was said to have shouted, 'I will kill you' before hitting him.

The Crescent Club was later shutdown after it was given strict stringent conditions following an earlier murder in 2009, a stabbing during a mass brawl, and some football related rioting between Chelsea and Cardiff City football hooligans in February 2010. It had been at 3 North End Crescent.
