Anthony Melhado

Anthony Melhado was shot dead in Shepherds Bush on Thursday 21 October 1993.

He was from White City, west London.

It was thought that his murder was part of a gang war to control the crack-cocaine trade across London.

A man who was suspected of murdering Anthony Melhado was later allegedly shot by Anthony Melhado's brother through a window at Newmont Travel in Uxbridge Road, not far from where Anthony Melhado was shot.

The main suspect in Anthony Melhado's murder flew out to Jamaica two days after his murder and during their investigation into Anthony Melhado's murder, the police flew out to Jamaica to interview the main suspect, but he refused to answer questions.

However, the main suspect later returned to the United Kingdom about 13 months later after which he was said to have been shot at by Anthony Melhado's brother.

It was heard that there had been tension between Anthony Melhado's family and the main suspects family in the month before his murder and that Anthony Melhado had been stabbed in a row over drugs and that there had also been a street fight between Anthony Melhado and the cousin of the main suspect in which one of them was armed with two knives.
