Edward Francis Pybis

Age: 20

Sex: male

Date: 9 Jan 2011

Place: Utting Avenue, Anfield, Liverpool

Edward Francis Pybis was shot in a drive-by shooting between two cars driving along Utting Avenue in Anfield, Liverpool on 3 January 2011.

He had been in the passenger seat of a silver Volvo car and was shot in the arm and abdomen by someone in a black BMW 7 series car with the registration DX57 UHU.

He was taken to hospital but died six days later on 9 January 2011.

Eight people were arrested for his murder but no one was charged.

The BMW car had earlier been stolen in Knutsford, Cheshire, on 2 December 2010. It had earlier been seen driving erratically in Anfield sometime before the shooting. It was later found burned out in Bellefield Avenue, West Derby.

Edward Pybis was thought to have been involved in an altercation earlier in the day at 1.30pm in Larkhill Close. He had possibly been a passenger in a silver Ford Focus car, registration NH57 HKX, and to have been involved in a dispute with two men in a dark coloured saloon car that had hit the side of the Ford Focus. After the altercation both cars were said to have driven off at speed along Larkhill Lane towards Townsend Lane.

Edward Pybis had lived in Norris Green.
