Dwight Williamson was stabbed in a row at his ex-girlfriends council flat in Huntley House on the Kingswood Estate in West Dulwich on Tuesday 23 July 1996.
A 27-year-old woman was tried for his murder but acquitted after she said that it was her new boyfriend at the time that had stabbed him and that he had then afterwards fled to Jamaica.
