Joshua Folkes

Age: 17

Sex: male

Date: 3 Dec 2013

Place: Bowes Road, Palmers Green, London

Joshua Folkes was stabbed to death in Bowes Road, Palmers Green.

He was stabbed just shortly after midnight, about 12.45am, outside a friend's house in Bowes Road, on 3 December 2013 and later died at 1.26am at the scene.

Three youths were tried for his murder at the Old Bailey but acquitted in June 2014.

Two of the youths were acquitted due to lack of evidence and the third youth claimed self-defence, saying that Joshua Folkes had been armed with a knife and that they had struggled over it, during which Joshua Folkes must have been stabbed and the knife then fallen to the floor. The third youth was acquitted of murder and manslaughter.

The court heard that at the time of his death, Joshua Folkes was wanted for attempted murder.

His post-mortem was carried out at Haringey Mortuary and the cause of death was given as a stab wound to the chest.

At the trial it was claimed that the three youths had planned the attack on Joshua Folkes because of growing animosity between them.

He was also known as Money J and went to Christ College. He was studying to be a car mechanic and was an Arsenal fan.
