Sonica Hans

Sonica Hans went missing on Boxing Day 2012.

She was last seen leaving her flat with a friend at Priory Court in Bedford at about 1.30pm which she shared with her sister and brother-in-law. She had said that she was going to the shops and would be straight back but wasn't seen or heard from again. Before she left she had asked her sister if she wanted anything from the shops.

A short time after she left the house, a person matching her description was seen on CCTV near The Swan Hotel on the Embankment when she was visiting a shop.

She had earlier been to the Tesco Metro in Midland Road at about 11.40am where she had bought some vodka and food after which she went home.

18-months after she disappeared the police searched the River Great Ouse between Prebend Street and the Slipe Bridge for her body but found nothing. The police said that given that Sonica Hans was thought to have been last seen near the Swan Hotel, they decided to search the river thinking that she might have fallen in.

When she was last seen she was wearing red trousers/leggings, a black jumper and a dark blue jacket. She was about 5ft 3in tall with long black hair which had been dyed dark brown.

Sonica Hans had worked at McDonalds and was described as a reliable employee and it was not thought that she had any reason to disappear or kill herself.

Sonica Hans was born in India. Her mother, who lived in India died in 2013.
