John Holland

Age: unknown

Sex: male

Date: 4 Jul 2001

Place: Hansom Close, West Drayton, Middlesex

John Holland was stabbed in the communal corridor of his flat in West Drayton.

A neighbour was tried for his murder but acquitted.

John Holland had been at a neighbour's flat in West Drayton waiting for a delivery of heroin and when it arrived he went back to his own flat.

A while later a commotion was heard in the communal corridor at the flats and when some people went out to see they saw the neighbour standing over John Holland who was bleeding heavily with a stab wound to his stomach.

John Holland was taken to hospital but died the following day.

At first the neighbour said that someone else had stabbed him but later admitted that he was responsible saying that he had not meant to stab him.

The judge told the jury that it was impossible for anyone other than the neighbour to know what had happened in the flat.

The jury retired for about two hours and cleared the man of both murder and manslaughter.
