Tommy Scott was beaten to death outside Kentish Town Tube station.

Four people were convicted of violent disorder but they were all cleared of his murder and manslaughter.

He had been hit at least twice in the face with a knuckle duster.

Tommy Scott had been visiting his half-brother in north London when they got involved in a scuffle with a gang of youths outside Kentish Town Tube station on 20 October 2002. They had been trying to get to Hendon but had taken the wrong tube and missed the last train back.

The scuffle then turned into a rolling fight along Kentish Town Road, during which Tommy Scott was punched with a knuckle duster which fractured his skull. He was also hit with a bread crate.

After the fight, the gang ran off. Tommy Scott was taken to hospital where he was put on a life support machine but it was switched off after he was pronounced dead.

Tommy Scott's brother was also taken to hospital but only suffered from a swollen nose, black eyes and bruises.

Tommy Scott was an antiques dealer from Mapperley Park Drive in Nottingham.
