Bashir Estor

Bashir Estor was hacked to death with an axe.

He was thought to have been murdered on 13 June 2003. His body was found on 14 June 2003 in South Esk Road, Forest Gate by passers-by who found a large blue, striped duvet bundle which they had unwrapped to reveal a body.

His body was found wrapped up in plastic and a duvet cover and dumped in South Esk Road, Forest Gate. His post-mortem stated that he had died from multiple head injuries and a severe blow to the head.

A suspect in the case had left the country. In March 2004, the suspects brother was convicted for dumping Bashir Estor's body and perverting the course of justice.

Bashir Estor was from Afghanistan and had told immigration officers that he had come into the United Kingdom in the back of a lorry. He had lived with friends in Gillingham but had had his application for asylum rejected. However, he had then stayed on in the UK illegally.

The main suspect was thought to have also entered the UK illegally on 6 June 2002 and also had his application for leave to enter rejected. He had been living in Baden Road, Gillingham but had vanished after the murder.

The police said that they thought that Bashir Estor had been murdered at a flat in Forest Gate, London and then dumped nearby in South Esk Road by the suspects flatmates.

The suspect was described as having a medium build and short dark hair.
