Liban Hussein Ibrahim

Age: 40

Sex: male

Date: 25 Dec 2004

Place: Uxbridge Road, Shepherds Bush, West London

Liban Ibrahim was stabbed in the street on Uxbridge Road outside the Costcutters shop.

He had been out with friends when they got into a confrontation with a number of Somalian men in Shepherds Bush over a drugs debt. One of Liban Ibrahim's friends was said to have become involved with one of the Somalians over a £20 debt for some chaat that he was said to have bought earlier.

During the row it was said that Liban Ibrahim had tried to intervene but was stabbed in the thigh which severed a major artery.

The man that was tried said that he had been out in Shepherds Bush with his friends when he had met the man that owed him £20 by chance and said that he had gone over to speak to him about it but denied that he had been armed or had stabbed Liban Ibrahim. He said that while he was talking to the man that owed him the £20, his friends started fighting with the man's friends and that he was not involved in the fight.

After his death, the police arrested four men and a woman. They later charged two of them with the murder and eventually one of them went to trial. The man tried was acquitted by the jury after eight hours deliberation.
