Denise Clough and her son Mark McCafferty 6 died after a fire at their home.
An open verdict was recorded saying that the cause of fire could have been either arson or a discarded cigarette.
They were pulled out of the burning house and taken to the Bradford Royal Infirmary but were found to have been dead on arrival. Two of Denise Clough's other children managed to escape.
Police said that there had been an argument outside their home two days earlier and several men aged between 17 and 23 were arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and suspicion of murder but no one was charged.
An investigation was unable to determine exactly how the fire had been started.
The inquest heard that Denise Clough's teenage son had staged a burglary at the home and might have cut a live cable which could have caused the fire.
