He had just finished a shift at the New Beehive pub where he worked as a glass collector and had been on his way home when he was stabbed around 12.45am.

He had been offerd a lift home but had declined.

The toilets had been at the junction of Carlisle Road and Bavaria Place in Westgate.

He was taken to hospital but was found to be dead on arrival.
