Tom Kirwan was stabbed to death outside the Uberra nightclub in Wolverhampton during a street brawl.
Six people who were involved in the fight outside the club during which Tom Kirwan was stabbed were convicted of affray. After they were convicted the police said that they were still working on finding Tom Kirwan's killer.
The police said that Tom Kirwan might not have been stabbed with a knife. He had been stabbed multiple times including once through the heart and twice in the back.
They also said that there was the possibility that he had been stabbed as a result of a petty argument. They said that the brawl happened following a disagreement between the two groups of people inside the club which then went outside into the street. Shortly after the affray started another group of people then arrived in vehicles and joined in.
When Tom Kirwan was found stabbed he was taken to hospital in an ambulance where he later died.
A friend of Tom Kirwan was also stabbed and received head injuries, but survived. However, he was unable to remember the full incident.
