Mustaphur Charkaui and his wife were attacked at their home by two men in balaclavas armed with a spade on Monday 12 March 2007.
They had forced their way into his home through a rear window and attacked them. Mustaphur Charkaui was hit over the head with a spade and knocked unconscious and taken to hospital but died 11 days later, on 23 March 2007, without regaining consciousness.
His post-mortem stated that he had died from a fractured skull.
Mustaphur Charkaui's wife was chased upstairs where she was hit in the face with the spade receiving deep lacerations to her eye and forehead.
Police divers later searched a watercourse on Aylesbury Park golf course for the spade.
Two men were arrested for his murder but no one was charged.
Police said that they thought that he had been deliberately targeted because someone had known that he was going to go to Morocco the following day with a large amount of money.
Mustaphur Charkaui was a hospital worker at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
He was also known as Chris.
