Dale Gordon

Age: 20

Sex: male

Date: 16 Nov 2014

Place: Netherbury Close, Gorton, Manchester

Dale Gordon died the day after a street fight with two men on 15 November 2014.

It was thought that he knew his killers.

Three men, aged 24, 28 and 32-years were arrested on suspicion of his murder shortly after, but they were later released with no further action.

Dale Gordon died from serious head injuries.

It was heard that he had gone to Netherbury Close on a blue moped that he had just bought that he wanted to show off, but it was said that it was not known whether he had arranged to meet the two men that he had fought.

His brother said that he would have known one or both of the people that he had met because he had taken off his crash helmet and talked to them for five minutes, noting that he was 'comfortable enough to be chatting for five minutes'.

The police were called to Netherbury Close shortly after 10.15pm on Saturday 15 November 2014 following reports of men involved in a fight. When they got there, they found Dale Gordon with serious injuries in the street. He was then taken to the Manchester Royal Infirmary where he died the following day, 16 November 2014.

The police released descriptions of the two men that they thought were involved in the fight.

The first was described as being mixed race, 5ft 8in to 6ft tall, average to athletic build and in his mid to late 20's. He was said to have been wearing a grey top with a darker hoodie over the top and with both hoods up. The police added that there was the possibility that he had been wearing something red underneath it all.

The second man was described as mixed race, between 5ft 8 and 6ft tall, mid to late 20's, and to have been wearing a dark coloured top.

The police said that the men were seen to leave Netherbury Close in a grey or silver hatchback style car.

The police said that they thought that the two men would have come from the local area.

Following the murder, the police released CCTV footage of a man that they thought might have witnessed the murder. They said that the man was not involved with the murder, but that he might have seen something and described him as a key witness. He was described as being dark skinned, aged between 20 and 30, of medium to heavy build and had short dark coloured afro style hair that appeared to be wedged or cut at an angle. He had been wearing a shiny stud earring in his left ear and dark framed glasses or sun glasses. He was said to have been wearing a waist length dark coloured jacket or top with a lighter coloured scarf around his neck that looked to be tan coloured, light trousers and white shoes or trainers. The police said that the man had walked along Mount Road in the direction of Hyde Round at around 10.15pm on 15 November 2014 near the Gorton Mount Academy School.

Dale Gordon had been known to the police and had appeared on the Greater Manchester Police's wanted website in June 2014 in relation to an alleged assault. He was described as being on the run at the time he died, but his family said that he had planned to hand himself in after Christmas and his 21st birthday. His family said that they didn't think that his being on the run had anything to do with his murder.

The police said, 'We still don’t know why he went to the street. It is no secret he has a criminal past and criminal links and criminal disputes. It may be totally irrelevant and over something completely different'.

He was also a rapper and used the name Deezy.
