Peter Morley

Peter Morley died from a head injury and died ten days later.

A man was tried for his manslaughter but acquitted.

He had earlier been involved in a row over an assault on his dog and died ten days later from a head injury, but the judge ruled that there was no evidence that an alleged assault had caused his death.

The judge said that there was not a sufficient link between the alleged assault and his death and so the case was stopped.

The Crown Prosecution Service later said, 'This was a complex case which turned on the prosecution proving beyond reasonable doubt that the alleged assault caused the victim's death'.
