Josh Hanson was stabbed in the neck at the RE bar in Eastcote on 11 October 2015.

Josh Hanson was stabbed in front of about 40 customers at about 1am on the Sunday morning. The emergency services were called out, but Josh Hanson was declared dead at the scene.

His post-mortem stated that his death was due to haemorrhage, inhalation of blood and an incised wound to the neck.

It was said that the attack against Josh Hanson was unprovoked. Josh Hanson had been out with his girlfriend at the time. It was said that the man came up to Josh Hanson, stabbed him, and then fled in the ensuing chaos. The police said after examining the CCTV footage, they could see no reason for the attack. They said that there was no warning of the attack or build up to the attack. The police said that Josh Hanson was standing at the bar when he was attacked and there was no obvious reason why he should have been targeted.

It was noted that there had been about 40 people in the bar at the time, but that many of them left as the paramedics arrived, and the police said that they were keen to interview everyone that had been there at the time.

RE bar was a wine bar and was described as being busy at the time. The club had been hosting a weekly house music event at the time called, 'covered in blood'.

After the murder, the police dredged drains and scoured nearby gardens in search of the murder weapon.

The main suspect for his murder was thought to have initially fled to the Netherlands but is since thought to have moved on to other countries, with a suspected seven month stay in Prague. He was described as being white, 6ft tall and with a muscular build. He was also noted as having a tattoo of an owl and a skull that covered his back. It was also noted that the large owl and skull tattoo covered a previous tattoo that he was recorded to have had. The main suspect was later put on Europe's most wanted list. The police said that he left the United Kingdom immediately after the stabbing from Biggin Hill Airport on a privately-chartered plane. The man was said to have been arrested in Prague in February 2017, on allegations of criminal damage and assault, but was said to have used a false name and presented false documentation before being bailed. The police said that they thought that he had been in Prague for at least seven months. It was also thought that he had travelled extensively across Europe and sightings of him were reported in Gibraltar, Nice in France, Bari, Italy and Prague. The police said that they were also focussing on Marbella in Spain, Bangkok in Thailand and Dubai. The police said, 'We know he has been travelling extensively since Josh's murder and has the ability to move around without using his own identity with the help of others'.

Josh Hanson was a roads planner in the construction sector with Stanmore Quality Surfacing near Brent Cross.
