Ayodele Osifuwa was stabbed in Chigwell, Essex at about 9pm on 9 December 2013 and later died on 7 February 2014 at the Royal London Hospital.
He had been 16-years-old when he was stabbed. He had spent two-months on a life support system.
He was found with leg injuries on a grass verge near the roundabout at the junction with Limes Avenue and Westmede in Chigwell.
Two people were arrested shortly after in connection with his murder, but later released without charge.
It was noted that the location where he was found was yards from a closed police station.
The police said, 'We know there were a number of witnesses to the attack who have chosen not to tell us what they know'.
He had attended Kensington and Chelsea College and lived on Chesterton Road.
