A miner was killed at Clough Hall Park at a miners demonstration.

The killer was never caught.

The event was the Great Trade Union Demonstration at Clough Hall Park pavilions and grounds in Harecastle on 18 June 1900.

The reference to the death comes from a 1905 newspaper report and no information from 1900 can be found about it, however a newspaper advert for the event can be seen in various newspapers from June 1900.
