Daniel Regan

Age: 25

Sex: male

Date: 12 Dec 2002

Place: Station Road, Haydock

Daniel Regan was shot in a house at the junction of Cooper Lane and Station Road in Haydock on Sunday 15 December 2002.

He was a drug dealer and wore a bullet proof vest because of the nature of his activities. It was thought that his murder was a gangland execution.

It was thought that a gunman had entered his property via the conservatory three days before he was found on 12 December 2002 at 7pm with a semi-automatic or pump-action shotgun and shot him.

He was shot three times in the chest, lower back and shoulder. He was found slumped down at the top of his stairs.

It was noted that the person that first found his body was wanted by the Police in Leeds and had not reported it.

Daniel Regan had lived in the house for about a year and had kept a low profile.

The police later released an e-fit drawing of a man that had been seen near his house on the night he was thought to have been murdered.

A silver or grey Rover car with registration number J609 MBU was found burnt out nearby in Station Road, Haydock on 12 December 2002 and was thought to have been used by his killer. It had been stolen in Manchester the day before.

Four people were arrested in relation to his murder but no one was charged.

Daniel Regan had moved to Haydock in 1999 after he was shot in Leeds where he had been living.

Daniel Regan was also known as Danny Regan.
