Jessie Moran died from an illegal operation.
A nurse who was considered a suspect and charged at the inquest disappeared.
The medical evidence showed that she died from septic peritonitis but that there was no evidence of an instrument being used.
Jessie Moran had been living under the name of Mrs Harper and been passing herself off as a widow.
She had two children and when in February 1906 she found herself in trouble she consulted the nurse. Then on 22 April 1906 Jessie Moran became ill and died on 18 May 1906.
The nurse had made an important statement concerning the matter but apart from the statement there was no evidence as to what had passed between the women.
