Age: 40

Sex: male

Date: 3 Apr 1995

Place: Mead Croft Road, Brandon Estate, Walworth

Michael Olymbius was shot at 10.20pm on Monday 3 April 1995.

He had been just getting into his car at the time in Mead Croft Road on the Brandon Estate, Walworth.

The police said they were interested in hearing from anyone who had seen two men running from the road.

The police said that they were also interested in tracing a suspicious White Mercedes van that was seen parked up in Mead Croft Road at about 9.45pm that evening.

The police said that they were also interested in tracing an antique 1917 German Lugar pistol that had the serial number 817.

His shooting was said to have taken place after police seized £1.5m worth of ecstasy that belonged to a notorious crime syndicate.

His murder was linked to police corruption after it was revealed that a former Flying Squad detective was bugged at the crime syndicate's headquarters talking about how he and three other police officers were helping the criminals evade justice.

Michael Olymbius had been a Greek business man.
