The body of a newly-born male child was found tied up in a sack with its neck broken in a pond on Blackheath.
The body had been in the water for four to five days.
The doctor said that the wounds to the child were so extensive that they had evidently been feloniously inflicted.
The inquest returned a verdict of 'Wilful murder against some person or persons unknown’.
