Tyno Kavuala

Age: 20

Sex: male

Date: 4 Mar 2007

Place: Scrubs Lane, Harlesden, Northwest London

Tyno Kavuala was shot dead as he sat in his black Audi A3 car on Scrubs Lane in Harlesden, northwest London, at around 4.15pm.

He was at a bus stop on the southbound carriageway near the junction with Harrow Road and Willsden Junction station.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His post mortem gave his cause of death as being multiple gunshot wounds.

It was thought that his killer had pulled up next to him in another car and then fired at him and driven off towards Hammersmith. He had been shot three times, twice in the shoulder and once in the neck.

He was thought to have been in the South Kilburn Gang and known as Tank. His murder was thought to have been associated with a feud between the South Kilburn Gang and the Kensal Green Boys in which both Sabrina Moss and Daniel Omari Smith were murdered in separate incidents. It was said to have been a targeted gangland execution.

Police said that they met a wall of silence during their investigation with many people that they reached out to refusing to give statements.

He had lived in Blake Court on Malvern Road in Maida Vale.

Two further murders were said to have been linked to Tyno Kavuala's murder, that of  Daniel Omari Smith in 2010 and that of Sabrina Moss in 2013. Daniel Smith's murder is still unsolved but three people were convicted of Sabrina Moss's murder in 2014.

Tyno Kavuala's brother and two other people were tried for the murder of Daniel Smith but were aquitted. The prosecution had said that they had targeted Daniel Smith because he bore a striking resemblance to the man that was thought to have killed Tyno Kavuala. However, Tyno Kavuala's brother said that he had been at a social event at the time of the murder and that he had suspected that his brother had been shot by the police.

Sabrina Moss was shot outside a takeaway by two men with a sub-machine gun and a shotgun. It was said that the gunmen had been targeting members of the South Kilburn Gang which it was thought Tyno Kavuala had been a member of and a number of who had been standing outside the takeaway at the time.
