A new born baby was found wrapped up in brown paper in an ash pit.
A carter working for the Salford Corporation had collected ashes from the Ordsall Lane area and when he came to tip them out at the clearing depot on Wilburn Street he saw the body roll out of the cart wrapped up in brown paper.
