Ernest Woodcock was found drowned with his fists clenched tight in his pockets.
He was last seen at about 11pm on the Monday at Grimsby Docks and his watch had stopped at 11.40pm which was when it was presumed he had drowned.
His body was later washed up in Cleethorpes on the beach near the Kingsway Promenade.
He had 15 sovereigns in his pockets.
He had been a railway fireman and had been staying at an address in wellington Street in Grimsby. He was last seen on the Monday night at 11pm on the Grimsby Docks.
