The body of a child was found in the canal at Walsall Bottom Lock at the junction of Pleck Road and Wolverhampton Street.
It had been wrapped in an old sack and fastened with string.
The autopsy stated that death had been due to suffocation by pressure on the mouth and not due to drowning.
