Place: Worcester College, Oxford
Cedric William Pepper was shot in the head.
It was thought that he might have shot himself accidently.
He had been in the 3rd Somerset Light Infantry and had served nine months in France as a rifleman in the Kings Royal Rifles but was wounded in the thigh.
He was in training in Oxford and had served some time in the ranks having recently obtained a commission.
He was found dead with a pistol lying by his side.
His father said that he knew of nothing to cause his son anxiety.
