Thomas Frederick Ford was found dead in a wood.
He had been a battalion Sergeant Major in the RFA and was found in his uniform.
He had been missing since 30 May 1917 and when he was found on 12 September he was terribly decomposed. There was no evidence to show how or when he died.
He was found by three soldiers who had been in the wood nutting.
He had served in India, Africa, Mesopotamia and France.
