Ezcekiel Ojo was shot in the chest on 22 August 2008 in Southwark.
He was found unconscious in Penrose Street near Walworth Road at 2.45am but soon died at the scene.
His post-mortem stated that his cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest.
It was suggested that his murder might have been a case of mistaken identity.
His murder was reported at the time as having been investigated by detectives from Operation Trident, the specialist unit within the Metropolitan Police set up to look into crime in the black community.
Ezcekiel Ojo had been from Nigeria.
