Two twins were found drowned in the River Thames near Waterloo Pier.
They were found floating in a paper basket. The boy had a piece of calico tied tightly around his neck and the girl had a fractured skull.
They had been wrapped up in a blue skirt and a portion of blanket.
The only clue as to their identities were the initials ML and WL that were on some of the clothing that they had been wrapped up in.
