Amelia Rothery died from blood poisoning caused by an illegal operation on 13 November 1900.
Amelia Rothery had for some time lived apart from her husband with her married sister in Bull Close Lane.
Her sister said that Amelia Rothery had mentioned something to her about a visit to a woman in Owram, but that she didn't know what the object of that visit was and that she had told everything that she knew.
Her inquest heard that there was no evidence to show who had performed the operation and a verdict of wilful murder against some person or persons unknown was returned.
