Place: Argyll Lane, Kensington, London

The body of a newly-born female child was found in a parcel at Argyll Lane, Kensington on the evening of Saturday 2 May 1903.

A divisional police surgeon said that the child had lived and had had a separate existence and that he found a pad of cotton-wool in its throat that had cause suffocation. He said that the pad must have been put in the child's mouth intentionally and had been the cause of death.

The jury returned a verdict of wilful murder against some person or persons unknown.
