Oktay Erbasli was shot while he sat in his silver grey Range Rover at traffic lights in Tottenham.
He had been shot by a hitman on a large black high-powered motorbike. The bike was thought to be either a Honda Blackbird or Suzuki GSXR1000. It pulled up to him at 4.10pm on the Friday 2 October 2009 at the junction of The Roundway and Great Cambridge Road. After the shooting the motorcycle was said to have driven off at high speed along the Roundway towards Lordship Lane.
After being shot Oktay Erbasli had managed to get out of his Range Rover and stagger down the road and then come back before he collapsed in the street. He was then taken to a hospital but died an hour later.
At the time Oktay Erbasli's girlfriend and their five-year-old son were also in the car but were unhurt.
The registration of the bike was said to have been similar to, or exactly HG07 YGL.
It was thought that there was only one person on the bike. The rider was described as wearing black or dark clothing and a black helmet.
Another motorcycle was also seen at the scene and was described as being possibly a Suzuki and was coloured blue, grey and white and had been driven by a person wearing a blue top.
The police said that they were also looking for a silver Vauxhall Astra and a blue Toyota that had been in front of Oktay Erbasli's car at the traffic lights that had then driven off at high speed towards the A406. Police said that they thought that the Toyota might have had damage to the rear as it was thought that the Range Rover had hit it during the shooting.
The police said that the murder was associated with tit-for-tat shootings in a long-running feud between rival drug gangs in the area.
Oktay Erbasli was said to have been a member of the Tottenham Boys for about seven years.
It was thought that he had been murdered by a member of the Bombacilar gang who were rivals with the Tottenham Boys.
Oktay Erbasli ran the Tottenham's Pound Stop Shop in Tottenham.
It was noted that the feud between the Tottenham Boys and the Bombacilar gang had resulted in at least another four murders.
