Min Duc Hoang

Age: 41

Sex: male

Date: 2 Dec 2014

Place: Whitehall Golf Club, Nelson, Cynon Valley

Min Duc Hoang was found dumped on a mountainside golf course near Abercynon, Rhondda Cynon Taff, on 2 December 2014.

The coroner stated that his cause of death was unascertained, and an open verdict was returned.

It was thought that he had been involved with large-scale cannabis growing in Newport.

His body showed signs of having been electrocuted, including blood in his ears and marks on his body. The doctor said that it should be born in mind that he was involved in cannabis cultivation and quite probably had been working with an unsafe electrical installation.

He had no signs of mud on his shoes, suggesting that he had not walked there. and it was suggested at his inquest that he had been dumped there.

Shortly before he was found, a white van was seen in the area, at about 6.50pm, which was seen to honk its horn after which a man ran towards it.

He had been dumped with his clothing and a number of documents that linked him to cannabis cultivation.

It wasn't thought that he had been there long before he was found.

It was soon after determined that he had been arrested in London in February 2014 at which time his fingerprints had been taken and they matched his.

His fingerprints were also supplied by the Vietnamese Embassy and all three sets matched.

He also had a notepad on him that contained phone numbers, lists and different items for the cultivation of cannabis.

One of the crime scene investigators who first went to the scene said that he found that it smelt strongly of cannabis.

SIM cards were found on him that had been used earlier on the day he was found in Newport.

Min Hoang was from Vietnam.
